The Reds endured a poor start to their Premier League campaign which saw them being beaten by Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season, and humiliated by Tottenham in the 6-1 thrashing at Old Trafford.
However, Solskjaer’s men have remained unbeaten in all competitions since the International break, with a couple of vital victories against Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig in the Champions League. The wins have provided United with a much needed confidence and momentum ahead of their fixture packed schedule, and Solskjaer believes the turnaround has been possible due to the improved squad fitness in the recent weeks.
He stated, “The truth is that we were not in shape before the international break. Now we are fit and we are sharp and it has only gotten better and better. We are always working to be stable, and I think we have been stable ever since February. We’ve lost one of the last eight, which I think is pretty consistent. Our squad is good and it gives us many opportunities. We can play in different formations, but the key is how we execute it. I am very happy at the moment.”
