Although Manchester United had an excellent start to their Champions League campaign, their Premier League campaign has seen them already lose 3 games as they languish in the 15th position. Fans and pundits are questioning Ole’s tactics and the players mentality as United are 9 points behind table toppers Liverpool. Manchester United were bullied by Arsenal and outwitted by Mikel Arteta’s tactics, as they lost to Arsenal at Old Trafford for the first time since 2006.
Rashford, who couldn’t stop his team from defeat on Sunday has urged his teammates to come together and bounce back after the disappointing loss. Speaking to the club’s official website he said, “It’s been tough. Obviously, we’ve had a lot of big games and games we need to get points in. It’s been a bit up and down but it’s like that sometimes. Like you say, it’s been an alright month but, for now, it’s all about sticking together and finding a way to win games and really picking up the belief. We always bounce back when we don’t do so well and I think it’s another one of those times. We have to come together as a team, get back to the basics, and win games.”
United travel to Turkey to face Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League, followed by an away game at Everton before going into the international break. Rashford has asked his teammates to forget about the Arsenal defeat and concentrate on the next game. He added, “We’ve analysed the Arsenal game and we can’t dwell on that for too long, otherwise it will affect our next performance. It’s important we go there with a fresh mind, a clean slate, play well and win the game.“
