Arsenal ended their 14 year drought of not winning at Old Trafford, as Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute to give Arteta’s men a deserved win. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, managing his 100th game for Manchester United was left to ponder on their performance as the Gunners had a relatively comfortable evening.
In a game of very few chances, Pogba’s unnecessary and clumsy tackle on Bellerin proved to be costly as the Arsenal captain tucked away the penalty to win the game for Gunners.
Speaking after the match, the France international admitted it was a stupid mistake to give away the penalty. He stated, “Maybe I was a bit out of breath and it made me do this stupid mistake. I felt like I touched him a bit and I knew I was in the box. I shouldn’t have given a penalty away like that. I’m not the best defensively in the box but I can learn and work on that.”
Pogba has now conceded three penalties during Solskjaer’s time as United manager, with no-one else conceding more than one.
