Toni Kroos criticised Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in his podcast for his exuberant and elaborate goal celebrations. The Arsenal captain was seen donning a Black Panther mask after he scored a goal against Rennes last season in the Europa League, and a Spiderman mask during his days at Borussia Dortmund.
Kroos, who recently started a new podcast titled Einfach mal Luppen criticised the likes of Aubameyand and Antoine Griezmann for their goal celebrations. The Real Madrid midfielder said “If there are rehearsed dances or choreographies, I find it silly. Celebrating with masks, that’s where it ends for me. I don’t think that’s a good role model either. What nonsense.”
Aubameyang, who was unimpressed with Kroos’s criticism took to social media to explain the reason behind his goal celebrations. The Arsenal skipper tweeted “By the way, does this Toni Kroos have kids? Just to remember I did it for my son few Times and i will do it again. I wish you have kids one day and make them happy like this Junior School pupils Talk and don’t Forget #maskon #staysafe“, with an emoji of a clown.
