Mourinho frustrated after Wolves draw

Romain Saiss’s goal in the 86th minute ensured Spurs dropped points against a gritty Wolves side, who could have won the game in the last minute of added time. Spurs failed to register any shots on target since the 21st minute and allowed Wolves to come back into the game after taking an early lead through Ndombele in the 1st minute.

Spurs are now winless in their last four matches and have picked up just 2 points in the process. Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Mourinho admitted he was angry with result as they couldn’t kill the game after taking an early lead. The Spurs manager added “One point against Wolves normally wouldn’t be a bad result because they are a strong opponent. But scoring a goal in the first minute and having the control of the game for the rest of it and having 89 minutes to score more goals is frustrating.”

I know the way I prepare the team, I know what I asked of the players, I know what I told them at half-time. I know all that and I don’t want to say much more than that.I give some credit to Wolves, of course, because by losing, they put some pressure on us, pressure that we coped quite well with, controlling the game very, very well.”

But we didn’t have that ambition, that desire to go for more. I think we can be disappointed because we started the game and we conceded a poor goal. I think we can avoid this kind of goal and after, it’s harder when you are playing this team like Tottenham to come back.”

But I think we controlled the game and even with the draw, I think we deserved more because we created a lot of chances and we scored only one goal. But that’s a good mentality. We have to keep it for the next few games and avoid this kind of goal because after, it demands a lot of effort to come back in the game.”
