Piers Morgan has once again take to Twitter to express his feeling towards Mesut Ozil, who is understood to be nearing his Arsenal exit. Recent reports suggested Ozil’s representatives have been in discussions to part ways with Arsenal on a mutual agreement in order for the midfielder to join Fenerbahce.
Having signed from Real Madrid in 2013, the former German international helped Arsenal win 3 FA Cups in his first four years at the club. However, the midfielder’s form dropped after signing a hefty 350,000£-a-week contract in 2018.
Ozil was sparingly used by Unai Emery, and was left out of the Premier League and Europa League squads by Mikel Arteta, prompting the midfielder to question Arsenal’s loyalty.
TV host Piers Morgan, who criticised Ozil few months back, has now sent a farewell message to the midfielder on Twitter. The Good Morning Britain presenter wrote “Loved @MesutOzil1088 when he first came to Arsenal.”
“World class player with a sublime natural talent. Now I can’t wait to see the back of the lazy manipulative £350,000-a-week wastrel.“
“You could have been a club legend, Mesut – but you just couldn’t be bothered. Bye.“
