Thomas Tuchel dismisses Pulisic exit rumours

Christian Pulisic has managed to start just one game since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at Chelsea, prompting rumours that the American might seek to leave at the end of the season. Pulisic, who had an impressive season last year after the restart has failed to break into Tuchel’s team due to their impressive run.

Speaking ahead of their away game against Leeds, Thomas Tuchel dismissed suggestions about the potential exit of Pulisic in the summer. Tuchel, who gave Pulisic his break at Dortmund insisted that the American is a key member of his squad. The Cheslea Head Coach added “He is an important player, and he has the potential to be decisive for us from the bench and as a beginner, is it necessary he can improve it? Yes. And this is my job. And his job is to be ready like everybody else.”

And when it comes the moment you have to be ready, this is what you sign up for at a club like Chelsea. There’s no difference between Christian and anybody else.”

On asked how Pulisic has reacted, Tuchel said “When you sign and play for Chelsea this is the part of the job description as a player to be patient and impatient at the same time.”

Impatient because all of my players are competitors all of them wants to play every single minute and this is what they all show every day, the hunger and desire and this is what Christian shows.”

When it was possible for him to start around Sheffield and Barnsley game he was one game unavailable, the other game came a bit too soon in the cup game against Barnsley, it was a difficult game for him, so it was not too easy.”

In the end it’s the quality of the players that shines on the pitch if you turn it around it’s the duty of the players to show up and to really earn that they play and this is what Christian does.”

So it can happen any minute in any game and at some point it’s just this I have nothing to complain, I feel in the last days very positive and doing the best out of his situation and this is what he can do.”
