Manchester United have reportedly made an improved bid to sign England international Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The new bid is believed to be in excess of £75m, with United paying more up front, and the remaining covered in add-ons.
United’s initial bid of £67m plus add-ons was rejected by the German club, who insist Sancho is not for sale. However, reports emerged that Dortmund are considering the latest bid from United for their star man, whom they value in excess of £80m.
With the forward’s contract about to expire in 2023, there is a possibility of both clubs agreeing on a deal. Although there are other clubs interested in signing the England international, Manchester United seem to be a more realistic option.
Speaking to talkSPORT ahead of Euro 2020, Sancho revealed he is not distracted by the transfer rumours. He added “You know, there’s always going to be speculation, especially when you do well.”
“It’s just how you handle that on the pitch and just keep doing what you’re doing.”
“If you keep on doing that then I’m sure that won’t be a problem because the main thing is my football and that’s what I’m focused on at the moment.”
With Rashford, Maguire, Luke Shaw in the England international team, Sancho admitted they ask him about the situation. The Borussia Dortmund forward added, “Of course all the boys have a lot of questions, you know.”
“I feel like that’s with a lot of players because we’re all such great young talents and, you know, when you do well – again, like I said – speculation is always going to come around.”
“Again, I just tell the boys, ‘look, I’m just focused on football at the moment’ and we just focus on the Euros, step by step.”
